Superior Aloeswood is the fourth of our very happy collaborations with Paul Muldoon, the Pulitzer Prize-winning poet whose many accolades include the Shakespeare Prize, the TS Eliot Prize, and the Griffin International Prize for Excellence in Poetry. Paul Muldoon was Professor of Poetry at the University of Oxford from 1999 to 2004 and poetry editor of The New Yorker from 2007 to 2017. Since 1987 he has taught at Princeton University, where he is GB Clark ’21 Chair of Humanities. He has been described by The Times Literary Supplement as ‘the most significant English-language poet born since the Second World War.’ Muldoon was awarded the Queen’s Gold Medal for Poetry in 2017.

Superior Aloeswood, a selection of ten substantial new poems, among them extended elegies for Leonard Cohen, Robert Lowell and CK Williams, has been typeset in 11pt Garamond and letterpress-printed and hand-bound by Stan Lane of Gloucester Typesetting Services / The Stonehouse Fine Press. The text paper is 145 gsm Zerkall Smooth. The ‘Blue Wave’ marbled wrappers are made by Jemma Lewis Marbling.
